ATS System To Watch

The first of three betting systems I’m rolling out on Rick’s Radio is one that most people know of. I don’t claim to take credit for thinking of this system, but I do want to note the games that qualify each week. I will add two systems that I think of myself around week 4 or 5 after we get some data. All of these will probably go under 60% (the goal of any system), but it’ll be fun to track and maybe we get lucky!

As I alluded to, this system is pretty common, so I don’t think it’ll take much explaining. The skinny of it is that you look for teams that didn’t cover the previous week to cover vs teams that did cover the week before. I don’t know this for a fact, but I feel like we usually only get 5-6 games that fit this criteria every week. In week 2, we have 10.

TNF – Vikings +6 at Eagles

Vikings lost outright as 4-point favorites when they hosted the Bucs.

The Eagles covered -3.5 last week in New England. Definitely tight at the end as the Pats had a chance to go win it late in the 4th, but they still covered.

Noon – Chiefs -3.5 at Jags

Chiefs also lost outright as the 4-point favorites in the TNF opener vs Detroit.

Jacksonville covered the -3.5 they were laying in Indy.

Noon – Raiders at Bills -8.5

Las Vegas trailed by 3 going into the 4th but won outright vs Denver as 3-point dogs.

Bills lost straight up in New York to the Aaron Rodgers-less Jets.

Noon – Ravens at Bengals -3

The Ravens put together an impressive 2nd half to pull away from Houston and cover the spread by a touchdown.

Bengals were up there with the Giants for worst performances of the weekend when they lost outright as 1-point favorites.

Noon – Seahawks +5 at Lions

Seahawks looked good for 30 minutes but were outscored 23-0 in the second half and lost as 4.5-point favorites.

Lions beat KC as an underdog.

Noon – Chargers -3 at Titans

In the best game of the weekend, the Chargers came up short to the Dolphins and lost as a FG favorite.

The Titans lost by 1 but covered the 3 points they were getting as an underdog in NOLA.

Noon – Bears +2.5 at Bucs

As a 1-point home favorite, Chicago lost by 18 to Green Bay.

Bucs covered and won outright as 5-point dogs in Minnesota.

3:05 – Giants at Cardinals +4

Giants didn’t even get close to covering in their 40-0 loss to Dallas.

Cardinals lost but hung around enough to cover the 7-point spread in Washington.

SNF – Dolphins at Patriots +3

Dolphins won outright as dogs, as mentioned above.

Patriots tried to cover vs the Eagles, but lost by 5 as 3.5-point dogs.

MNF – Steelers +2.5 vs Browns

Steelers were getting 1.5 points but lost 7-30 vs San Fran.

Browns pounced the Bengals.

I’ll continue to update this system every week, highlighting each game that fits the criteria while also keeping tabs on its overall record. At the time of this post, we’ve already had the TNF game push based on the final lines that closed at +6. If you would’ve bet the Vikings early Thursday afternoon, you probably could’ve gotten it at +6.5 or 7 and made some money.
