Welcome to arguably the best week of basketball all year. While the actual March Madness tournament ultimately delivers the highest level of talent and the crowning of a national champion, the week leading up to it often provides the most chaos. Conference tournament week brings together powerhouse programs and fringe teams fighting for their postseason lives, creating the perfect storm for drama.
For six straight days, it’s wall-to-wall hoops. Bubble teams battle for survival, underdogs attempt to steal automatic bids, and contenders try to avoid disastrous upsets that could derail their seeding. The stakes are immediate… win and advance or lose and your season may be over.
Below are our predictions for the top 10 conference tournaments that start either today or tomorrow. We tried to call our shots on a few of the brackets (Toledo 15/1, MSU 7/1) but also had to ride with the heavy favorites on a few (Duke -350, Florida -180, UConn -130).
I’ll be updating the results daily to track our overall win/loss and then will provide a +/- on our units based on tournament winners. Also keep an eye on our twitter for our all our picks this week (3-1 last week on ASUN and MVC games).
